Just launched! A new website for Firefly Studio

We just launched a new website for a repeat client, Firefly Studio, based in central Illinois. Firefly Studio is based in a small town and offers many types of photography including: families, senior portraits, weddings, commercial and schools / sports. When we spoke about this website, we knew that it was really important to let viewers easily be able to see the different types of work, and access what they wanted on the website.

Together organized the types of photography into 4 groups. We then created a quick link with a circle graphic that goes to each area of the website. Also, the slideshow header rotates through 3 photos of each genre. Each type of photography has it’s own portfolio page, complete with information. The senior portrait page is one of my favorites, with a full experience section designed into it.

We also have dedicated pages for an FAQ, the studio, and products. Throughout the website we utilized jump links to take viewers to specific parts of pages, to make sure all the information is easily accessible. Where it says Seniors, Weddings and Schools on the image below, takes the viewer to the corresponding FAQ within this page, so you can see the questions you want quickly.

Before every project, we have a Strategy Session where we learn more about each client, what types of information we’ll be sharing on the website, and creating a plan for the best way to do this. Some websites are simple with 5 or 6 pages, and others have a lot they need to get across, requiring more sections and pages. Knowing this before we start design helps create a strategic website that keeps viewers on the website by leading them to the right places.

I am so ever thankful for my repeat clients. I’m grateful for all my clients, but when someone comes back for another project (or sends a friend this way) it lets me know that we’re really keeping our clients happy. It’s also just fun to get to talk to someone years later, hear about their families, and how their businesses have grown.
