HOW WE WORK
Creating a web presence that tells the story of your business is a collaborative process, but I will guide you through each step. We work together to get to know who you are and why you do what you do.
I will give you a task list, keep you on track with reminders, and guide you through the design process. With my slightly class A personality, and my awesome assistant, we will keep you organized, and encourage you when you need a gentle nudge. (Of course, you can feel free to tell me if you need to step away for a few days or weeks. I understand life comes up with changes when least expected.)
Some clients come to us knowing exactly what they want, and others are comfortable handing the project over with little input. Most fall somewhere in between. There are two things that we definitely need from you. The first is content (which we will guide you through gathering) and the second is feedback when we present a version of the design to you. This helps keep us on track, and creating a website that you love. When your project is complete, your website is filled with content, tested on multiple devices, SEO friendly, mobile optimized, and ready to share with your clients.
As a small business, we only accept 1-2 new clients per month so we can do our best work. Due to this, we often book 4-10 weeks in advance depending on our current workload. To get on our calendar, we require a $500 deposit and signed agreement. As soon as you are on our calendar, my assistant and I will start working with you to gather everything you need for our project. We ask that everything be submitted before our kickoff meeting.
We specialize in website design for creative women and photographers. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, a certificate in Multimedia Design, ten years experience in the Information Technology industry, and for six years I ran a successful wedding photography business. From this background, and passion for art and technology, Jessie Mary & Co. was created.

Using my unique industry experience and understanding of what it takes to run a successful small business, I work with each client to create a web presence that is uniquely you.
HOW LONG DOES THE WEB DESIGN PROCESS TAKE?
It depends on the details of your project, and if you already have your brand established. Being collaborative, the project timing also depends on your responsiveness, in gathering materials and in giving feedback. An estimate is 9-12 weeks.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
Services include custom web design, personalized templates, and work together sessions. All our websites are search engine friendly, and all projects include adding your content. WHAT ARE WORK TOGETHER SESSIONS?
Work Together sessions are one on one Zoom meetings with screen-share where we work on your project. We have a consult first so we know exactly what the plan is for the session, and then you can not only get your website work done, but learn as you go. Learn more here.
DO YOU WORK WITH THE PRO PHOTO THEME?
I can work with many themes, but I typically recommend the Genesis Framework, Pro Photo, or Elementor Pro. After getting to know you and your business, we’ll decide together what backend will let us to create the right look for your brand.

WHAT ABOUT SQUARESPACE?
I admit, it took me some time to come around here but I’ve realized Squarespace definitely has it’s place, and have started working with it this last year. I actually love it for small shops! It’s e-commerce is so much simpler than anything in WordPress, which means you can maintain your shop.
DO I HAVE TO HOST WITH YOU?
Instead of offering hosting, I have chosen to partner with a managed WordPress host that does an incredible job. You will have your own account, but can leave me on as a collaborator to make it easier if you’d ever like me to look at anything. While I strongly recommend my hosting partner, Flywheel, but you are welcome to host with whoever you prefer.
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Typically our wait list for custom or semi-custom design clients is between four and ten weeks. It sounds long but truly four weeks seems to be the ideal time most clients need to gather images, review content and get ready to kickoff. For Work Together sessions and small website updates, I can typically get you in much sooner.
