Non-profit Website Design
Federated Charities approached me to help with their website. It was already halfway complete. The CEO of this non-profit is very tech-savvy. She phrased it as “knows enough to get in trouble”. Really she did an amazing job of getting the website started, and of knowing when to ask for help.
I jumped into the project with all the content already online, pages created for each of their menu options, and WordPress already up and running. They had a theme installed and configured as well.
The original plan was to tweak the theme and just finish it to look professional. As I dived into the project, we re-evaluated and decided to give it a bit more of an overhaul. We replaced the original theme with the Genesis framework but still incorporated their original colors and logo.
Federated Charities provides support to other non-profits in Frederick, through resources and physical office space in the community. The mission of their website is to provide a place for both other non-profits and potential donors to learn their story. It was important in developing the site that it was easy for donors to contribute online. Also key was to feature their community partners and the history behind their charity.
Together we put together all these functions. As was our goal, in the end we created a very straightforward and functional site, that was also professional and navigated with ease.
