Long Beach Island, New Jersey

I just got back from a week long vacation at the Jersey shore.  I read a lot, played in the sand, the pool, explored the little shops, and celebrated my 8th wedding anniversary.  Oh, and I ran five mornings, making it four miles one day, by far my furthest yet!

I grew up in New Jersey and remember driving down the shore all my life.  When I was ten, we went to Long Beach Island for the first time.  Ever since, I have visited at least every couple of years.  It’s where my husband proposed to me.  It’s where we announced to my mom and step-dad that we were having a baby.  Last summer, was our daughter’s first trip.  She couldn’t wait to go back this year.

Mid-week, we did a little portrait session.  She even agreed to the dress of my choice and to take off her sunglasses. Those of you that know Mackenzie, know she always has her sunglasses on!  I took a lot of photos, which I still have to sort through.  I thought I’d share a few close ups that caught my attention, and seemed right for a bit of a film-like artistic editing.

She is already asking when we can go again.
