Jen is a photographer and motherhood blogger.  Her multifaceted business created an interesting challenge in organizing her website.  Beyond being an artist, writer and photographer, Jen is also quite tech-savvy, so it was really important that she be able to edit her website pages later on.

Before the re-design she was using Pro Photo 5.  I didn’t want her to invest in a custom design for a theme that is quickly becoming dated in terms of it’s backend and mobile responsiveness, so we knew right away we had to move to a new platform.  After careful analysis, I decided the new Pro Photo 6 was not the right tool for the job.  Instead I create a custom Genesis Framework website with an added page builder, so while the backend design is done with code, the front end pages can be easily modified by her later.

We created a modern feminine design, with a scrolling effect, and using buttons within each page to guide the visitor along through the website.  We wanted to make sure that brands who might want to work with Jen as a blogger, could see what they needed to, and that moms wanting family photos could easily read her articles and book her for a portrait session.
