The 50 coffee dates project
Do you know where your last 10 clients have come from? I was a little surprised.
I spend a lot of time on SEO and social media marketing, so I know this brings me business. What I didn’t know is that it’s not responsible for nearly as many of my inquiries as I had expected. When I sat down and looked at my data, I discovered that over 50% of my new clients are referral based. It was such a reminder that even if we spend our days in a quiet office (or not so quiet, thanks to my cat Fergie) staying in touch with people is so important.
This brings me to my new project. I’m calling it The 50 (Virtual) Coffee Dates Project.
I currently have a small network of trusted resources, that I can send my clients to when they need expertise beyond our scope. My company consists of my project assistant, Angel, and me. We do what we do really well, but we can’t do everything.
My clients often need copywriters, social media marketers, print graphic designers, SEO / SEM experts, and more. So I’m hoping through this, I can establish relationships that I know I can trust.
The most important part though…
Connection and community.
My favorite part of what I do is working with women owned small businesses, and helping them live life by their own terms. I see this project as a chance to learn from and share inspiration with others that share my audience and enthusiasm for what we do.
If you are a small business owner that is interested in spending 30 minutes together sharing our business stories, send me a note.
