We have a new website!

I am so excited to share our new website. It’s been a long time in the works behind the scenes.

The new website is a change in platform. It’s still WordPress but we’ve moved from Pro Photo Sites to Kadence as the theme, which meant a complete redo of all the content (except for the blog posts). I still absolutely recommend Pro Photo to my clients, especially those that have been with them for years like our site had been, but it was time for this website to transition.

Pro Photo almost 2 years ago moved to a pay one price monthly for hosting, website software, and support. For many people this is an excellent solution, but being a web designer, I prefer to host on a platform where I can have a bulk plan, so I wanted to stay with Flywheel hosting. I use multiple websites so I can test new features, themes and platforms within WordPress. I also very rarely use support for our company website.

I do talk to Pro Photo’s support regularly for clients, and their team is the absolute best support I have the pleasure to work with of any website platform. This is why I continue to recommend Pro Photo Sites to clients, especially photographers that I work with.

Back to our website…

I did a deep dive into our branding and goals. As I considered making changes to our style, I realized I’d just being changing it to have something new, but after 10+ years what we have still works. I did tweak the color palette a tiny bit, expanding the teals we use, to three different shades. It’s subtle but adds dimension.

We’re still doing some work on content, design tweaks and SEO, but it’s live and ready to share! One of my goals was to create a website that has an easier flow for our viewers, and provides all the information needed in a straightforward way.

We’ve also made sure to add pricing information into our Custom Web Design and Strategy Session services page. I was talking to a client recently about price transparency and realized I wasn’t following my own guidance.
