Here is a photo of one of the wedding guests holding the bride and groom’s baby daughter. The contrast of this substantial man with the delicate precious little one is what I adore here.

I thought I’d blog this series because it was particularly fun. During the bridal party portraits, there was lots of laughter. It’s the moments in between that I adore. You’ll see what I mean in the photos below.

It was my first trip to this park, and it’s incredible. Though I live in the western suburbs of Portland, I’ll definitely recommend Esther Short to my clients for engagement sessions and portraits. It is in an urban part of Vancouver. The park itself has lots of big shade trees, a gazebo, another large structure, play areas, and plenty of open lawn.

I try to keep formals casual and fun. We took the truly formal formals (straight line, look at the camera… sort of thing) and then squeezed in some relaxed ones.

I have an engagement session with a Vancouver couple who is getting married this summer in Yachats, Oregon, at the Yachats Inn.  They are having a beach wedding right on the sand!  We are doing engagement portraits on the Discovery Trail in Washington.  Hopefully the weather cooperates.

Next, I am really excited to be asked to design a wedding album for a couple who got married a couple years back.  Their photographer is unable to design the album, and she saw my post below.  I also can’t wait to show my new albums to a client for the first time.

On to the business/ lifestyle portrait.  It is for my hubby.  He has been asking me for months to do photographs for him, and I finally decided to schedule him in as a client.  Otherwise all he gets is  adorable shots of him with our daughter, which doesn’t really work for his blog, or resume.

Hopefully I can squeeze in some self portraits too.  The images on my home and about pages are from summer, definitely time to update!

I do not remember what happened here, but hopefully this picture brings back the memory to them. That is the groom’s arm on the right side of the image so I am pretty sure it was something he said.

By this point, the group seemed unaware that I was there taking pictures. When I talk to people before photographing them, they often don’t believe that they will be able to ignore me. I think it’s easier to do during a wedding or event than a portrait shoot but it happens during both. It’s just such a great point to get to, it’s when the real smiles come out, and the true moment’s are captured.

Jamie, one of my two snowstorm brides, had a long list of formal portraits to take before the ceremony.  The wedding party consisted of two groomsmen, three bridesmaids, two dogs, and two children.  Here is a photo that I took while the bride was attempting to get the ring bearer and flower girl to pose with her.
