Love Point – Chesapeake Bay Wedding

I am super excited to publish these photos of Vanessa and Rob’s Chesapeake Bay wedding at Love Point. Jen of Carolina Photosmith, via a referral from my friend and awesome DC photographer Amber Wilkie, asked me to photograph this wedding with her. Thanks to both of you! Jen traveled from Charleston, South Carolina for the weekend to capture this day.

From talking to brides, it seems the news of Love Point is spreading fast. Vanessa and Rob’s wedding is one of the first at this new wedding venue, just about 20 minutes past Annapolis. The venue is beachy and elegant at the same time! It’s view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge is just breathtaking.

I met Vanessa and Rob just a few hours before the wedding. Jen introduced me to the bride as she was getting ready in a suite at the Sheraton in Annapolis with her sister, mom and all the bridesmaids. There is something special about the chaos of all the ladies together! The couple is so sweet and seemed super in love. This wedding was filled with big smiles, families laughing, delicious food, and lots of dancing!

One of my photos placed 10th in the Wedding Photojournalist Association contest! The contest chooses 20 winners in each category, from submissions by thousands of photographers throughout the world. I am honored to have one of my photos chosen as a winner in the First Dance category. Plus now I get to display a cool little banner on my site that says “International Award Winning Wedding Photographer”!

Lakewood Arts Center {Portland Wedding Photographer}

Katy and Aaron’s wedding continued at the Lakewood Arts Center, in Lake Oswego. It’s a beautiful brick building, and the trees were all changing colors outside. Inside the couple had an intimate wedding reception. Here’s a few favorites from their first dance.

Katy & Aaron just got in the vintage car when I shot this, to head over to the wedding reception. The bride’s expression, the guest taking a photo from behind, and of course the incredible lines of the car, make this photo one of my favs from their wedding.

As the sun set, the dancing started. It began with the children just having so much fun on the dance floor, and then the adults joined in. The last photo of this post is a couple that just really knew how to dance. Watching them made me want to whisk my hubby off to ballroom dance lessons!

Downtown Portland Wedding Reception

The reception was inside the Portland Ecotrust. The room had amazing walls of different textures, high ceilings with exposed beams, and lots of windows. Becca & Eric had live music playing throughout, and donuts made by Staccato Gelato for dessert, which were very popular. The celebration ended with a slideshow of childhood photos of the couple.
