Last weekend I met with Danica for coffee to sort through her wedding album layout. When a client orders an album, I create a preliminary album and give them an electronic version. From this they can either approve it or make as many changes as they like. Danica and Alphonse were having trouble deciding on the changes so we got together.
I don’t get a chance very often to look through wedding photos with a client face to face, and it’s such a neat experience. I always get feedback via email or a phone call but it’s quite different being one on one, and seeing the photos together.
We looked through the draft album, and flipped through their wedding pictures. Danica told me that they reminded her of all the good moments of the wedding. I was so thrilled to hear this. What I found even more awesome is that many of her favorite photos were also my favorite!
I love when a client orders a wall canvas of one of what I consider the best images from their wedding photography, or even when a portrait client chooses a fav to use as their Facebook icon. It just says something to me. There is something about seeing so eye to eye that makes me know that I truly was the best photographer to capture their moments. It is the ultimate compliment.
I thought I would do a little storybook blog post from Danica’s wedding. When I blog right after an event or session, I post them as I process. I like this because it gives little tease sneaks. I have been thinking though that it loses a bit of continuity so I thought I’d try redoing this one as one long photo essay.
