When the bride, her maid of honor, and I arrived at the Ecotrust building the guests were starting to gather on the rooftop terrace. The terrace has a brick fireplace that the wedding took place in front of, and a view of downtown Portland.
The weather was very typical of a Portland spring day, constantly changing. It was raining lightly as everyone awaited the bride’s arrival. As the ceremony started the sun was suddenly shining brightly, and then just as quickly it was dark with lots of clouds.
I always watch for the groom’s reaction when he sees the bride. Becca & Eric grabbed each other for an intense hug when she walked in. I managed to snap a quick photo of it (second picture below). During the wedding ceremony the couple did a flower ritual. Each guest was given a flower. About halfway through the ceremony each friend and family member came up, handing it to the bride and groom. It was lovely.
