Child Photography and Photoshop

I am almost done editing Jenni’s family portraits.  I posted this photo earlier with just basic post-processing. It’s my favorite photograph of her older son so I thought I’d play around with it a little more, especially since I just got my new copy of Photoshop CS4.

I love processing children’s portraits because they are completely open to creativity.  In this photo I used one of my black and white actions first but it wasn’t quite right.  I decided it needed warmth so I added a warm honey action on top.  I had never before used this on a black and white image, and it’s first results were bizarre.  With a little tweaking, I got this just slightly tinted image.
